Amosar Forte 100/25 mg tablets

It is used to treat arterial hypertension in patients for whom combination therapy is indicated.

It is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.

Composition:

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Losartan 100 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, anhydrous calcium phosphate, Prosolv 90, croscarmellose sodium, povidone K30, sodium stearyl fumarate, colloidal silicon dioxide (Aerosil 200).

Properties:

Amosar Forte is a combination antihypertensive drug.

Losartan is a non-peptide angiotensin II receptor blocker. It blocks AT1 receptors, preventing the vasoconstrictor effect of angiotensin II and its stimulation of aldosterone secretion. Its effect is long-lasting (24 hours or more).

Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. It impairs reabsorption of sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and water in the distal nephron and delays excretion of calcium and uric acid. It lowers blood pressure through arteriolar dilation and has practically no effect on normal blood pressure.

The diuretic effect starts within 1-2 hours, peaks at about 4 hours and lasts 6-12 hours. The antihypertensive effect appears within 3-4 days; the optimal effect may take 3-4 weeks.

Indications:

• Arterial hypertension in patients for whom combination therapy is indicated.
• Reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality in patients with arterial hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in a dry place, out of the reach of children.

Packaging:

Carton box containing 30 film-coated tablets (3 blisters of 10 tablets each) with a paper leaflet.
