Atacand 16 mg tablets

It is used to treat high blood pressure and, as an adjunct to ACE inhibitors or in patients who cannot take them, heart failure.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

• Candesartan cilexetil 16 mg.

Excipients: calcium carmellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, iron oxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, macrogol.

Properties:

Atacand is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist with antihypertensive activity. It blocks type 1 angiotensin receptors, which suppresses the effects of angiotensin II (vasoconstriction, stimulation of aldosterone synthesis and cell growth, regulation of water and salt balance).

The blood pressure lowering effect is due to a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance without an increase in heart rate. It does not inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme and does not affect other receptors or ion channels.

Indications:

• Arterial hypertension (high blood pressure).
• Heart failure, as adjunct therapy to ACE inhibitors, or in patients who are intolerant to them.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

• Carton with 14 tablets.
