Amaryl 2 mg tablets

Amaryl 2 mg tablets contain glimepiride, an oral medicine of the sulfonylurea group that lowers blood sugar. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and weight loss alone do not control blood sugar.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

• Glimepiride 2 mg

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, sodium starch gluconate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone (25000), yellow iron oxide.

Properties:

Amaryl is an oral medicine that lowers blood sugar. It belongs to the sulfonylurea group. It increases the amount of insulin released from the pancreas, and the insulin then lowers blood sugar levels.

Indications:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and weight loss alone cannot control blood sugar levels.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging, out of reach of children.

Packaging:

• Pack of 30 tablets.
• The carton contains 1, 2 or 3 blisters of 10 tablets each, with a paper leaflet.
