Amrizole 500 mg tablets

Amrizole 500 mg is an antiprotozoal and antimicrobial medicine from the 5-nitroimidazole group, with metronidazole as its active ingredient. It is used to treat infections caused by anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa, such as trichomoniasis, amebiasis and giardiasis. It is also used to prevent anaerobic infection before bowel surgery.

Composition:

Each tablet contains: metronidazole 500 mg.

Excipients: dibasic calcium phosphate, starch, povidone K25, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide.

Properties:

Antiprotozoal and antimicrobial drug derived from 5-nitroimidazole. Inside anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa, the 5-nitro group is reduced by intracellular transport proteins. The reduced group interacts with the cell DNA of these microorganisms, inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis, which leads to bacterial death.

Indications:

• infections caused by anaerobic pathogens: wound infection, respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, intestinal infection
• prevention of anaerobic infection before bowel surgery
• trichomoniasis
• amebiasis
• giardiasis
• Crohn's disease

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Packaging:

Cardboard box containing 20 film-coated tablets in 2 blisters of 10 tablets each.
