Aprovel 150 mg tablets

Aprovel 150 mg is a film-coated tablet containing irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It is used to treat high blood pressure (arterial hypertension). It is also used to treat kidney disease in adult patients with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, as part of combined antihypertensive therapy.

Composition:

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Irbesartan 150 mg

Auxiliary components: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, macrogol 3000, carnauba wax.

Properties:

Irbesartan is a potent, active, selective antagonist of angiotensin II receptors (type AT1). It blocks all actions of angiotensin II regardless of its source or route of synthesis. This leads to higher plasma renin and angiotensin II levels and lower plasma aldosterone concentration. At recommended doses, irbesartan alone does not significantly affect serum potassium levels. It does not inhibit ACE (kininase-1) and does not require metabolic activation to be active.

Indications:

• Arterial hypertension (high blood pressure).
• Treatment of kidney disease in adult patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus, as part of combined antihypertensive therapy.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

• Cardboard box with 14 film-coated tablets in aluminium blisters.
