Fawar Fruit effervescent granules

Fawar Fruit is a fruit-flavoured effervescent granule preparation in sachets, made by Pharco in Egypt. It is used for flatulence, heaviness in the stomach and indigestion linked to excess stomach acid.

Composition:

Each 5 g sachet contains:

• sodium bicarbonate 2.80 g
• citric acid 0.82 g
• tartaric acid 1.33 g

Properties:

The effervescent granules have a very pleasant taste.

They are indicated for flatulence, heaviness in the stomach and hyperchlorhydric dyspepsia.

The pressure of the carbon dioxide released stimulates intestinal motility, while sodium tartrate has a mild laxative effect.

Sodium citrate and sodium bicarbonate are excreted in the urine and cause a mild rise in urine pH in an alkaline environment. This helps reduce irritation of an inflamed urinary tract and supports long-term maintenance of alkaline urine.

Indications:

• flatulence, heartburn and heaviness in the stomach associated with hyperchlorhydria
• to make the urine less acidic, in inflammatory conditions of the urinary tract associated with acidic agents
• as an adjuvant in gout therapy
• prevention of crystalluria during treatment with sulfonamides

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place at 15-30 °C, protected from moisture.
