Motilium 10 mg tablets

Motilium 10 mg tablets contain domperidone 10 mg per tablet, as domperidone maleate. Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist with antiemetic action, used to relieve the symptoms of nausea and vomiting.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

• Domperidone maleate, equivalent to domperidone 10 mg

Excipients: lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, hypromellose.

Properties:

Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist with antiemetic properties.

It crosses the blood-brain barrier poorly, which lowers the risk of extrapyramidal side effects, especially in adults.

It stimulates prolactin release from the pituitary gland.

Its antiemetic effect comes mainly from a peripheral (gastrokinetic) action and from blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone outside the blood-brain barrier.

Indications:

Relief of the symptoms of nausea and vomiting.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.

Pack size: 40 tablets in 4 blisters of 10 tablets, in a carton box with a paper leaflet.
