Galvus 50 mg tablets

Galvus 50 mg contains vildagliptin, an oral hypoglycemic agent of the DPP-4 inhibitor class. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, together with diet and exercise.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

• Vildagliptin 50 mg

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous lactose, sodium carboxymethyl starch, magnesium stearate.

Properties:

Oral hypoglycemic agent. Vildagliptin belongs to the class of pancreatic islet stimulants and selectively inhibits the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4). Inhibition of DPP-4 increases both basal and meal-stimulated levels of the incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP throughout the day.

Indications:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy, together with diet and exercise.
• Type 2 diabetes mellitus as two-drug combination therapy with metformin, a sulfonylurea, a thiazolidinedione or insulin, when diet, exercise and monotherapy with these drugs have not been effective.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C, in a dry place.

Carton containing 28 tablets (2 blisters of 14 tablets).
