Megamox 1 g tablets

Megamox 1 g is a combined antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is a broad-spectrum antibacterial used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including infections of the respiratory tract, ENT organs, urinary and genital organs, skin and soft tissues, bones, and after surgery.

Composition:

Each tablet contains:

• Amoxicillin 875 mg
• Clavulanic acid 125 mg

Excipients: anhydrous colloidal silica, sodium gluconate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate.

Properties:

A combined preparation of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is bactericidal and inhibits synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It is active against aerobic gram-positive bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. Clavulanic acid inhibits type II, III, IV and V beta-lactamases and protects amoxicillin from enzymatic breakdown; it is not active against type I beta-lactamases produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia spp. and Acinetobacter spp.

Indications:

Treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by susceptible pathogens:

• lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, pleural empyema, lung abscess)
• ENT infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media)
• genitourinary and pelvic infections (pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, cervicitis, salpingitis, endometritis, bacterial vaginitis, septic abortion, postpartum sepsis, pelvic peritonitis, soft chancre, gonorrhea and others)
• skin and soft tissue infections (erysipelas, impetigo, abscess, phlegmon, wound infection)
• osteomyelitis
• postoperative infections

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.

Packaging:

Pack of 14 tablets (1 g), in 2 blisters of 7 tablets each, in a cardboard box with a paper leaflet.
