Alzental 200 mg tablets

It is used to treat infections caused by intestinal and tissue worms and certain protozoa, such as hydatid disease, neurocysticercosis, ascariasis, enterobiasis and giardiasis.

Composition:

Active ingredient: micronized albendazole 200 mg per tablet.

Excipients: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, magnesium stearate, talc, sodium starch glycolate, polyplasdone XL, povidone K25, sodium lauryl sulfate, Opadry II white.

Properties:

Broad-spectrum anthelmintic active against most nematodes and some cestodes and protozoa.

Albendazole is absorbed poorly from the gut and is converted in the liver to albendazole sulfoxide, which is the active anthelmintic metabolite.

• Echinococcosis (hydatid disease) of the liver, lungs and peritoneum
• Neurocysticercosis (larval infection of the brain by Taenia solium)
• Ascariasis
• Enterobiasis
• Hookworm infection (ancylostomiasis)
• Strongyloidiasis
• Trichuriasis (whipworm infection)
• Giardiasis
• Capillariasis
• Gnathostomiasis
• Trichostrongylid infections
• Lymphatic filariasis

Storage:

Store below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

Packaging:

• Carton box with 1 blister of 2 film-coated tablets (200 mg) and leaflet.
• Carton box with 6 film-coated tablets (3 blisters of 2 tablets each) and leaflet.
